How do I incorporate geospatial data into a data management plan?

You can treat geospatial data in your data management plan as you would any other kind of data; the same guidelines apply. For general guidelines, take a look at the DMPTool (http://dmptool.org), and make sure to look at your funder’s specific requirements. In your plan, you’ll typically describe what the data are and how you’ll acquire them, what your plans are for organizing and documenting the data, how you plan to share them and ensure their long-term preservation. If you’re acquiring geospatial data from an external source (rather than collecting the data yourself), check into whether the data provider asks you to comply with particular security measures or other requirements.
